The two physicians have over two decades of combined years of experience in the mental and behavioral health field. They continue to demonstrate immense dedication to their clients by evidence of this certification. The ABAM certificate signifies excellence in the practice of Addiction Medicine. This certification demonstrates that a physician has met vigorous standards through intensive study, assessment and evaluation. Dr. Edward Lafleur has served as the Medical Director of Victory Addiction Recovery Center since it’s opening. Dr. Lafleur received his medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. He served as Chief resident at University Medical Center (UMC) as he completed his residency in the Family Practice Department. He has over a decade of experience in the field of addictions and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. He completed his residency at University Medical Center (UMC) in the Family Practice Department, and was named Chief Resident at UMC in 2004. Dr. Lafleur is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians He works in Youngsville, LA and one other location and specializes in Family Medicine and Addiction Medicine. Dr. Lafleur is affiliated with Our Lady Of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.

Dr. Scott Mayers is Board Certified in Psychiatry. Dr. Mayers completed his psychiatric residency in Washington, DC at George Washington University where he also served as the Chief Psychiatric Resident at Community Connections. He received his MD from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans, La and was appointed Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry. Previously, Dr. Mayers held the position of full time psychiatrist with the Department of Veterans Affairs in Lafayette, LA. and served in this position for several years. He is a member of the American Psychiatric Association and Louisiana Psychiatric Medical Association. He has nearly a decade of experience in behavioral medicine.
